Earth Day — Green Columbus

Every year Green Columbus, (a Columbus, Ohio-based organization) coordinates hundreds of volunteers over a week-long effort to clean up their area. In fact, over 69,000 hours have been donated planting trees, establishing gardens, cleaning river banks, popping honeysuckle, and more. The efforts culminate in a final festival hosted by the organization where volunteers and citizens, alike, can celebrate the earth.

In 2015, The organization chooses a different theme for their design—2015 was dedicated to the urgency of doing something "Right Right Now Now."

In 2016, Green Columbus was in collaboration with the City of Columbus who was focused on planting 300,000 trees by 2020. The initiative is called "Branch Out Columbus," so the graphics for Earth Day honored their intention.
